Yes, I do still exist. I feel like I don't even have time to post this, but I figure it's probably to important to keep everyone posted. :)
Since Dean was born with congenital torticollis he's been sleeping on the right side of his head. He still keeps his head to one side most of the time. Because of this he has developed a flat spot on the back of his head. His left eye (to us it's his right) is also slightly squinty still, even with all the work we've done to put him on his left side during naps.
Jake and I went to see an orthetist about this and we ended up getting a helmet. They told us we could go either way. There were four things they measured. On a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the worst, Dean was a 2, 2, 2, and 3. He was on the lower side, but they said his eye probably wouldn't get any better if we didn't do this and it's better to get it done early so we just decided to go with it.
Luckily Dean doesn't even seem to notice his helmet. It hasn't been too much of a problem at all. We will likely decorate it over the next couple of weeks, but I wanted to get some picture right away so everyone can see his new look. :)

The helmet isn't nearly as bulky as I thought it would be. He doesn't even look like he is bothered by it.
It's just a few months and then he'll be perfect! But I love him either way!!!!!!!!!!
I'm glad it's not bugging him. I hope he doesn't have to wear it for long!
Yes, that is great that is doesn't bug him. I thought the same thing when I saw it about it not being as bulky as I thought it would be. What a relief to not have to worry about his head so much. I can't wait to see how you decorate it. Thanks for keeping us posted.
What is congenital torticollis?
That't great that he doesn't mind wearing it, and it actually looks pretty comfy. :)
